Can we get zeaxanthin and lutein from our diet?
Yes. Lutein is found in green leafy vegetables like kale, spinach, and collard greens. Zeaxanthin is available from a few dietary sources (orange bell pepper, paprika peppers, and goji berries), but it is much more difficult to find high sources in our diet. That is why supplementation is often necessary.
